Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has accomplished something nobody thought he would be able to do.
By Sunday, almost 98 percent of power had been restored in the state.
Considering the level of destruction that Hurricane Ian left behind, this may go down as one of the most amazing recoveries we have seen.
Getting Ready
While the media tried to say that DeSantis was not properly prepared, they could not have been more wrong.
DeSantis declaring a state of emergency far ahead of the hurricane striking was key to everything.
Among other preparations, DeSantis had more than 42,000 linemen and 1.6 million gallons of fuel for generators so damages could be repaired.
So, what did the media do instead of congratulating DeSantis?
They made fun of his boots…

DeSantis hit right back…
Construction on the Pine Island bridge has been completed today – just three days after construction began.
