A 69-year-old woman fatally shot a seemingly disturbed male who entered her house near Orlando, Florida after warning him numerous times to leave and– at the very end– to stop advancing towards her,WKMG-TV reported.

A male in his 30s got into the home in the 6500 block of Bentwood Street around 12:30 p.m. and shocked house owner Virginia Morrison, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office informed WKMG.

She informed the station in an interview that she informed the man to leave, however, he didn’t react to her commands. Morrison stated the male– whom she had actually never ever seen in the past– didn’t made a noise or “bat an eyelash” the whole time.

“Something wasn’t right with the man,” she told WKMG. “He had a blank look on his face.”

Morrison included that she even struck the trespasser in the confront with the straw end of her broom, tossed her mobile phone at him, and her future husband even fired a shot at his feet– and the man never even moved.

“I said, ‘I’m getting my damn gun.’ So I went to my bedroom and got my gun, and I went out the back door, and I came to the fence, and he sees me, and he starts toward me,” Morrison told the station. “I fired a shot above him then said, ‘Back off, dude. I’ll shoot you.’ And he kept coming toward me, so I shot him.”

The man was required to a healthcare facility where he was declared dead, deputies informed WKMG, which included that his name has actually not been released.

“I feel sorry for his family, but I had to do what I had to do,” Morrison added in her interview with the station.

She also told WKMG it was the first time she ever had used her gun and added a warning for other homeowners: “Keep your doors locked. Anybody can walk into your house now. I killed a man. I didn’t intend to do that. I’m trying to protect me and my fiance.”

Since she believed her fiance was outdoors, Morrison told the station that her door– which she generally locks– was open.

WKMG stated she’s complying with detectives and that the Florida state attorney’s office will determine if charges will be raised  in the case,
