And now, they wish to play dirty games once again as they constantly lost in fair play video games. Democrat senators are now pondering whether to call Elon Musk into Congress to hold a hearing over his takeover of Twitter.

Democrats have increasingly incensed over what they consider to be ‘disinformation’ on social networks and have actually raised issues that Musk’s refusal to censor conservatives might enable bad actors to control popular opinion.

Twitter and the Tesla CEO reached a $44 billion contract to offer the business in its totality to Musk. The acquisition of the business comes weeks after Musk slammed the platform’s failure to promote the concepts of free speech. Musk stated that he wishes to bring the business in line with First Amendment concepts and revamp its small amounts policies.

On Thursday, Senate Commerce Chair Maria Cantwell (D-WA) mentioned in an interview, “We’re thinking about it,” in response to a question on whether Democrats planned to call Musk to testify before them, according to Bloomberg.

The Senate Commerce Committee formerly held hearings with Big Tech executives, consisting of previous Twitter president Jack Dorsey and Meta Platforms CEO Mark Zuckerberg. The committee has likewise grilled Google manager Sundar Pichai.

Democrat Sen. Ed Markey (D-MA), who rests on the committee, informed Bloomberg that the Senate wishes to know what Musk’s strategies are for moderating the platform following his takeover.

Here’s what Markey said:

“It’s a technology which is central to democracy and our economy and it is important for the representatives of the American people to hear what the new owners intend on using that technology to accomplish. We have to understand the censorship or lack thereof, content moderation or not, that is going to be the policy for the new owner.”

“In terms of what the values are that this company is going to be creating for the new Elon Musk Twitter world, I think that’s actually a necessary role for Congress to play,” he added.

Markey’s remarks were echoed by Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) who stated that there is a “powerful imperative to ask him to tell Congress and the American people how he’s going to address concerns that we’ve raised.”

Republican politicians on the other hand have actually mostly revealed their assistance for Musk’s takeover of the business. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) stated Musk’s acquisition “the biggest development for free speech in decades.”

“There is a reason why Big Tech liberals want to silence conservatives — they know that freedom and free enterprise wins!” he added.

Musk’s efforts to get Twitter will not be completed for a couple of more months.
