Imagine building a home that you spent more than $250 million on over the last five years, and just walking away.
Not only walking away, but just leaving it fully furnished and handing the keys over to someone that hates you.
That is what Joe Biden just did with a military base in Africa.
Here You Go
Air Base 201 cost the American taxpayer $110 million to build, then another $30 million a year to maintain.
Due to Biden’s horrific foreign policy failures, the new regime in Niger has decided that it no longer wants the United States operating a base within its borders.
So, over the last few months, troops have been pulling out, and now the base has been fully evacuated, with some equipment left behind for good measure.
Not only that, but this significantly impacts our ability to monitor the activity of ISIS and al Qaeda.
Maj. Gen. Kenneth P. Ekman explained how much of a blow this is to national security, stating, “This does make safeguarding U.S. security interests in the Sahel that much harder.
“The threats from ISIS and Al Qaeda in the region are getting worse every day.”
Biden’s Pentagon, of course, spun this as only it can, stating, “This effort began on May 19 following the mutual establishment of withdrawal conditions and coordination will continue between U.S. and Nigerien armed forces over the coming weeks to ensure the full withdrawal is complete as planned.
“The effective cooperation and communication between the U.S. and Nigerien armed forces ensured that this turnover was finished ahead of schedule and without complications.”
This has made our country and the world far less safe, and we have Joe Biden to thank for it.
