That didn’t take long. Something resembling this was said after Sept. 11 too. Less than 24 hours after the assassination attempt on Trump, David Frum of the Atlantic blamed it on the person who nearly got assassinated. Frum insists Trump is a dictator and a fascist and said “Fascism feasts on violence”. The President is just getting a taste of his own medicine in another case where the victim is blamed.
Trump is not a dictator
But if enough people say it, the public will believe it. Frum started with,
”Now the bloodshed that Trump has done so much to incite against others has touched him as well. Trump and his supporters envision a new place for violence as their defining political message in the 2024 election. Fascist movements are secular religions. Like all religions, they offer martyrs as their proof of truth. The Mussolini movement in Italy built imposing monuments to its fallen comrades. The Trump movement now improves on that: The leader himself will be the martyr in chief, his own blood the basis for his bid for power and vengeance.”
Supposedly the dead gunman and Trump are enemies of a free nation. Frum ended with, “The gunman and Trump, at their opposite ends of a bullet’s trajectory, are nonetheless joined together as common enemies of law and democracy.”
The timing of this was in bad taste and people on X let him know. Joe Concha said, “David Frum needs help. In every way.”
Dictator and Nazi
Are too common words the media uses to describe Trump because he believes differently. The Blaze’s Auron McIntyre commented, “They are still trying to get Trump killed.”
Mike Davis noted the Trump Derangement System is still in full effect. “Former Bush 43 political appointees with Trump derangement are some of the most pathetic, delusional, and self-righteous people in politics. Blaming Trump and his family for his near assassination? @davidfrum definitely wins the trophy with this one. Truly a douche bag.”
Megan Basham of the Daily Wire pulled no punches. “You literally just published an essay saying Trump had it coming less than 24 hours after an assassin missed taking Trump’s life by millimeters. People are disgusted by what you wrote in @TheAtlantic because it was disgusting. You are not the victim here. Sit down.”
TDS calls Trump the dictator
That Derangement Syndrome happened more than we’re hearing. It’s not just coming from the “random fringe”. It also comes from current sitting Democrats.
Colorado state Rep. Steven Woodrow posted and then deleted the post on X but not before screen shots were taken. He wrote, “The last thing America needed was sympathy for the devil but here we are.”
Mr. Woodrow is up for reelection. Fellow Denver Democrats distanced themselves. Shad Murib is the chair of the Colorado Democrat Party. He posted, “This is a regrettable tweet and @coloradodems condemn it.” But Woodrow wasn’t the only one. A number of Democrats were sorry the assassin missed. They don’t hate Trump because he’s a little rough. Democrats want Trump dead because they hate his supporters.
