And he breaks it down step by step. Lex Fridman spoke with Carlson recently and asked him that question. In 2021 the Republican National Committee did a six month investigation that concluded that Democrats exploited COVID to make last minute changes to election rules that allowed for Biden’s victory. The report was addressed to RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel who is stepping down.
Carlson does the bottom line
Straight away Carlson said, “It was 100% stolen. Are you joking? They completely changed the way people vote right before the election, on the basis of COVID, which had nothing to do with -” Fridman threw in, “So in that way it was rigged, meaning manipulated?” Tucker responded with, “One hundred percent. Then you censor the information people are allowed to get? Anyone who complains about COVID? Which is like, by the way, it might’ve hurt Trump.”
The RNC report thought voter integrity measures and mail voting laws were relaxed under the guise of a pandemic response. A number of things resulted from that, among them compromised election security, diluted verification processes and Republican poll watchers were obstructed.
Carlson emphasized information
The RNC report thought an election integrity operation should be carried out year round with voter ID and banning ballot harvesting. The report mentioned the lack of transparency. If democracy is censored, it isn’t democracy anymore.
Carlson explained,
“I mean you could play it many different ways. You can’t have censorship in a democracy, by definition. Here’s how it works. The people rule. They vote for representatives to carry their agenda to the capital city and get it enacted. That’s how they’re in charge. And then, every few years, they get to reassess the performance of those people in an election. In order to do that, they need access — unfettered access — to information. And no one, particularly not people who are already in power, is allowed to tell them what information they can have. They have to have all information that they want, whether the people in charge want it or don’t want it or think it’s true or think it’s false, it doesn’t matter. And the second you don’t have that, you don’t have a democracy. It’s not a free election, period.”
Polls show no trust in elected leaders
Or in the news. The media was rated poorly in a Gallup survey October 2020. A poll of trusting our elected leaders was done this past January. The only thing politicians beat was telemarketers.
Carlson isn’t the only one pointing out the problem. Joe Rogan is talking about the COVID lies too. March 2023 Newt Gingrich thought the COVID cover-up was the “largest, deadliest scandal in American history.”
