A video of Nancy Pelosi saying the words she should have said a long time ago surfaces. In it, she took responsibility for not having better security in place for January 6, 2021. As speaker, she was the highest ranking officer at the Capitol but she had a narrative to push. She needed to have Donald Trump be responsible for the breach, have him impeached and criminally indicted. Silence was needed.
Pelosi is nasty
The House Oversight Committee found a video shot Jan. 6, 2021 as she was being evacuated from the Capitol. She actually takes some blame for that day.
The speaker was talking with her chief of staff, Terri McCullough. The footage was taken by her daughter Alexandra for an HBO documentary called “Pelosi in the House”.
The speaker spent over three years and almost $20 million to set up the narrative that it was all Trump’s responsibility. This particular video wasn’t included in the film.
Pelosi spoke about the situation
In the video she spoke with McCullough.
“We have responsibility, Terri. We did not have any accountability for what was going on there, and we should have. This is ridiculous. You’re going to ask me – in the middle of the thing when they’ve already breached the inaugural stuff – ‘should we call the Capitol Police, I mean the National Guard?’ Why weren’t the National Guard there to begin with?”
We all asked that, Nancy. McCullough, thinking of the Capitol police, said that we had the necessary resources.
But Pelosi said no. “No, that’s not a question of how they had … they don’t know. They clearly didn’t know. And I take responsibility for not having them just prepare for more.”
An honest assessment airs
But Monday morning, on MSNBC, she sang a different tune. She accused Republicans of not sending in the National Guard “for hours”. Pelosi insisted, “What does he do, but try to deny that any of it happened?”
These were among the failures Republicans asked about as the January 6 committee was being formed. The GOP thought it was going to be a volatile day between both Trump supporters and antifa groups, why wasn’t the National Guard put on alert?
Pelosi didn’t want any objecting Republicans on that committee and she blocked them. Anti-Trump Republicans were instead included such as Liz Cheney of Wyoming and Adam Kinzinger of Illinois.
