Normally, Home Depot is one of those companies that you would think you would find it hard to locate something to complain about. At the end of the day, you gotta tell the truth even on companies you like.
What Home Depot has been caught doing should make any sane person want to stop going there immediately.
The Home Depot branch in Calgary, Alberta recently sparked outrage among Canadians after one of its notices to employees about the benefits of “white privilege” went online.
The notice included a checklist that was meant to be used by those who are “white, male, Christian, cisgender, able-bodied and heterosexual.”
This story is yet another example of how companies and colleges are indoctrinating people into their ‘woke’ agenda.
The controversial packet titled “Leading Practices – Unpacking Privilege” was shared on social media after it had been posted in an employee lounge at the store.
It highlighted a few different types of social advantages such as white privilege, class privilege, Christian privilege and cisgender privilege that can benefit some people more than others.
For example, it noted that if someone feels confident that the police exist to protect them then they have white privilege or if they can expect time off from work to celebrate religious holidays then they have Christian privilege.
It also listed being able-bodied, heterosexual and male as additional privileges.
When asked about this issue by reporters a spokeswoman for Home Depot stated that this material had not been created or approved by their corporate diversity department nor was it part of any required programming for their Canadian division.
Furthermore she stressed that the company fully supported diversity across all branches and locations.
As expected many people were quick to express their disapproval with this issue on social media outlets like Twitter with some even going so far as to threaten boycotting the store entirely over this matter.
One user wrote: “Imagine how messed up people have to be before a major corporation decides to post this in their breakroom.”
Furthermore conservatives and free speech advocates took notice of this story condemning attempts such as these where companies and colleges try imposing ‘woke’ indoctrination upon individuals especially when attempting to do so without prior warning or consent from its employees or students respectively.
