It has been reported that ministers are expected to approve a deal which will see some 50 people set free, including children and their mothers. This is part of a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas as well as part of a larger foreign policy agreement.
According to an amendment made in 2014 under the Government Law, full approval from all members of the cabinet is required before any security prisoners can be released early. It goes on state that such releases can only be made under national security or foreign relations conditions where it would benefit either Israeli citizens or residents being held hostage; a situation which is applicable in this case.
The report also states that Israel could end up releasing around 300 Palestinians during this exchange if certain technical issues can be resolved while still upholding national security measures. Furthermore, there were reports that suggested drones used by Israel may not fly over Gaza for several hours each day during the ceasefire period.
Israeli PM Netanyahu's office has announced they will be holding a series of special Cabinet meetings today following reports that a deal with Hamas was close.

KSBW reported:
“During the days that the fighting is paused, Israel would stop flying surveillance drones over northern Gaza for at least six hours each day, one person familiar with the talks said.
Under the forthcoming agreement, Hamas would also gather up any additional women and children hostages during the period that fighting has paused – something the group has insisted that it cannot do until a sustained ceasefire is in place. The temporary ceasefire would potentially be extended beyond that for more hostages to be released.
Hamas has also demanded hundreds of trucks of aid, much of it fuel, as part of the negotiations. Fuel is key to running its military operations and ventilating the group’s network of underground tunnels in Gaza.”
