One Pentagon official’s dirty laundry has just been aired out for all to see. Deputy Chief Information Officer for Command, Control, and Communications at the Office of the US Secretary of Defense, Frederick Douglass Moorefield Jr., has just been arrested and charged with running a dogfighting ring for over two decades.

The 62-year-old official from Arnold, Maryland was taken into custody alongside Mario Damon Flythe, 49, of Glen Burnie Maryland. The criminal complaint was filed on September 21, 2023 and unsealed during their initial court appearance on Thursday, September 28, 2023. U.S. Magistrate Judge J Mark Coulson ordered both men to be released pending trial under supervision from U.S Pretrial Services.

The investigation revealed that Moorefield and Flythe used encrypted messaging applications such as WhatsApp or Telegram to communicate with individuals all over the United States regarding dogfighting activities which they identified themselves by the names “Geehad Kennels” (Moorefield) and “Razor Sharp Kennels” (Flythe).

They communicated about training methods, shared videos involving fights between dogs as well as coordinated fights between kennels owned by people they knew in other states while betting money on them too.

Law enforcement officers found veterinary steroids, training schedules stained with blood along with a weighted dog vest which had a patch reading “Geehad Kennels” when they executed search warrants at both defendants residences located in Maryland back on September 6, 2023.

A device consisting of an electrical plug connected to jumper cables was also recovered during the search warrant which is suspected to have been used to execute animals that didn’t perform expectedly in dogfights according to law enforcement officials who attended this case.

12 dogs were seized by federal authorities during this same raid at both defendants residences located in Maryland back on September 6.

If convicted Moorefield and Flythe each face up to 5 years maximum sentence federally for possessing, training or transporting animals for participation in animal fighting ventures.

No prior convictions were reported under either individual names yet data collected shows that Frederick has worked as a Deputy Chief Information Officer since June 2015 within the US Department Of Defense before his arrest last Thursday.

His profile however has already been deleted from said organization website following his arrest order however, internet sleuths were able to archive the page.
