Well, Georgia has finally decided to move forward with an indictment of Trump.
Not only that but the indictment named 18 other Trump allies.
Fani T. Willis, the Fulton County district attorney, threw everything and the kitchen sink at Trump in this indictment.
The Lead
There is a lot to unpack here, and a lot of it stinks.
First, before the grand jury came back with its decision, the Fulton County website had posted the indictment, then took it down.
Oddly enough, when the grand jury returned the indictment, it was worded almost identically to the mystery posting by the DA’s office.
When Willis was asked about the earlier posting, she just brushed it off and moved on to the next question.
In this indictment, Trump and friends are hit with some very serious charges, including obstruction and RICO charges.
Trump went off after the indictment was announced late Friday night.
He stated, “Nineteen people were indicted, and the whole world is laughing at the United States as they see how corrupt and horrible a place it has turned out to be under the leadership of Crooked Joe Biden.”
Trump added, “The racist and corrupt district attorney of Fulton County, which has turned out to be a murder capital of the world with among the highest violent crime levels anywhere in our country, just opened a fundraising site in order to benefit off the things she most campaigned on, ‘I will get Donald Trump.’
“This politically-inspired indictment, which could have been brought close to three years ago, was tailored for placement right smack in the middle of my political campaign, where I am leading all Republicans—by a lot—and beating Joe Biden soundly in almost all polls.”
Meadows, who has all but disappeared from public view since this investigation started, has already made a filing to have the case moved to federal court.
