This story is one of the most bizarre stories I have ever seen on many different fronts.

A passenger on public transportation demanded he be left off between stops.

When the driver refused, as any bus driver would do, the man drew a gun.

From there, everything went sideways.

Let Me Off

The driver, David Fullard, told the passenger, identified as Omarri Shariff Tobias, that he could not stop between stops to let him off.

The video shows Tobias back away, then pull a gun.

Fullard, clearly now in fear for his life, drew his weapon and opened fire.

This is how it went down…

What is utterly shocking to me is that Fullard is probably going to lose his job.

The bus company seemed more upset over him pulling a weapon over the fact his life was clearly in danger.

They also said he did not de-escalate the situation properly, and he was fired from RATP Dev, which provides the drivers for the transit system in Charlotte, NC.

Uhm, the man had a gun pulled on him, and at that point, your fight-or-flight reactions kick in.

Tobias has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injuries, communicating threats, and carrying a concealed firearm.

No charges have been filed against the driver as of this writing.
