Sam Brinton, the non-binary serial suitcase-stealer who used to be a big official with the Department of Energy, stashing left over nuclear waste, is off to prison. At least for a little while. He skated on the first two incidents but was declared a “fugitive from justice” in the third. He may not be sure which bathroom to use but Maryland officials are sending him to jail with men. He’ll have to leave his leash and dog collar at home but will probably enjoy his stay at the grey bar hotel, just the same.

Men’s prison for non-binary thief

New York Post is keeping a straight face and simply reporting the facts but Sam Brinton going to prison is an entire stand-up comedy act of it’s own. The “non-binary former nuclear official,” they write, “is to be placed in a men’s jail in Maryland while waiting to be sent to Virginia over suitcase theft charges.

As progressive as the state is, they don’t have transgender facilities yet, so they’re stuck with only two choices. They use the one which matches the plumbing you were born with.

As explained by a Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputy on Tuesday, May 23, Brinton is currently on a “pre-placement” hold at the county jail and should be housed with the “general population” of the men’s jail sometime next week.

He’ll be stylishly dressed in prison orange for a while, instead of the designer clothes he’s used to. That’s one of the bonus benefits of luggage stealing.

Under the policy of Montgomery County Department of Correction and Rehabilitation, “inmates are processed and housed according to their biological sex.” Prison is no place for hormone therapy.

Although MCDOCR does not consider anatomical changes brought about by hormonal therapy to be changes that constitute a change of anatomical sex, the classification of an arrestee/inmate will depend on whether the arrestee/inmate has male or female genitalia.” They take a look in your pants and pick one.

Management or security problem

The jail and prison system doesn’t care about what sex you think you are, all they care about is if the inmate will “present a management or security problem, and whether their health and safety can be ensured.” Since Brinton is a high profile prisoner, they’ll be sure to give him some special attention.

The 35-year-old former nuclear official has a penchant for designer luggage. When he spots a trendy label spinning around on the baggage claim carousel he simply can’t resist picking it up and walking away with it. He’s done it at least three times that we know of.

Brinton was arrested at home last week on “Grand Larceny charges over the alleged theft of a case belonging to a Tanzanian fashion designer from Ronald Reagan National Airport.

He hasn’t been convicted of it yet so this is only jail, not full fledged prison. Even so, it’s not expected to be a pleasant experience. It’s a good thing “they” are into bondage.

The designer who’s clothes he’s been wearing, Asya Khamsin, “lost her luggage, which included her one-of-a-kind dresses created for a fashion show.” After Brinton had already been in the news for stealing two suitcases at two different airports, Ms. Khamsin came forward with evidence.

She has photos of her wearing her original design clothes, then another set showing Brinton in them. Prison is too good for him, she declares. Sometime next week, he’s expected to be placed in “general population.
