The Biden administration is partnering with child traffickers crossing our southern border. Witnesses will go before the House Judiciary Committee to tell what happens to unaccompanied children who cross the southern border. Tara Lee Rodas is a whistleblower that worked at the Inspector General’s office at the Dept of Health and Human Services. She saw children placed where they don’t belong.

The administration is complicit

Rodas volunteered at an intake site. She wanted to place these children with appropriate sponsors but she found that wasn’t the case.

Rodas testified,

“Whether intentional or not, it can be argued that the U.S. Government has become the middleman in a large scale, multi-billion-dollar child trafficking operation run by bad actors seeking to profit off the lives of children. Today, children will work overnight shifts at slaughterhouses, factories, restaurants to pay their debts to smugglers and traffickers. Today, children will be sold for sex.”

The administration is ignoring the problem

If you know about the problem, do something about it. Rodas continued,

“I thought I was going to help place children in loving homes. Instead, I discovered that children are being trafficked through a sophisticated network that begins with being recruited in their home country, smuggled to the U.S. border, and ends when ORR delivers a child to a sponsor — some sponsors are criminals and traffickers and members of Transnational Criminal Organizations. Some sponsors view children as commodities and assets to be used for earning income — this is why we are witnessing an explosion of labor trafficking,”

The number of unaccompanied children at the border exploded indeed according to statistics from Customs and Border Protection. It went from 33,239 in 2020 to 146,000+ in 2021 and 152,000 in 2022.

The administration shouldn’t be doing this

Supposedly kids are put into custody then connected to a sponsor. But a report in February by the New York Times found that the administration had “lost” 85,000 kids.

Sheena Rodriguez is the president and founder of the Alliance for a Safe Texas. She’ll testify about the Mexican drug cartels transporting kids over the border. “We can no longer turn a blind eye and pretend this isn’t happening. Congress has the power to stop this, which is why I am calling on you to do what is right.”
