ICYMI – Did Vladimir Putin have another meltdown?
Was he starting to panic about winning the war against Ukraine as rumors of his health continue to swirl?
To that point, Putin reportedly fired yet another high-ranking commanding general over frustrations regarding the war with Ukraine.
Getting Antsy
According to reports, Lieutenant General Yevgeniy Nikiforov was “likely in the process of taking over command” of Russia’s Western Group of Forces.
If those reports were accurate, he would be the fourth commander of those forces since the war with Ukraine started.
British Defense intelligence stated, “The continued churn of senior Russian officers probably reflects internal divisions regarding the Russian Ministry of Defense’s future conduct of the war.”
Rebekah Koffler, president of Doctrine and Strategy and a former Director of National Intelligence officer, stated, “Moscow, Kyiv and Washington — the key stakeholders in the current war — maintain irreconcilable positions while pursuing unachievable goals.
“Putin, despite tactical setbacks on the battlefield, insists on the West’s recognition of Crimea, which Russia invaded in 2014, and four other recently annexed territories in Eastern Ukraine, as Russian.
“This is a non-starter for the U.S. or Europe, as such a concession would amount to handing victory to Putin.”
It sounds as though our worst nightmare is coming true… we are in another forever war.
