There is nothing like watching Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) during committee.
The only person I currently enjoy watching more is Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH).
Cruz was hammering FCC nominee Gigi Sohn for what should, at the very least, be a clear ethics violation.
How?
In a perfect world, administration nominees are not able to donate to candidates or PACs.
In a perfect world, once they are being considered, all money during the current cycle should be returned.
That, unfortunately, is not how our corrupt political system works.
In the case of Sohn, she was donating to Democrats that are on the very committee charged with vetting the candidate.
Sohn donated 12 times to Senators on the committee.
Cruz stated, “I’ve been in the Senate ten years. I have never seen a nominee make contributions to senators while your nomination is pending. I’ve never seen that once.
“I had my staff search the records.
“If we could find anyone in the Trump administration who had done that.
“My staff was unable to find that.”
Gigi Sohn gave 12 separate political donations to Senators who will potentially vote to confirm her.
She sees no issue with this.

The GOP is united to fight the nomination, so this all rests in the hands of Democrats that have literally been paid by Sohn, so I guess we all know how this will work out.
