There has been a lot of speculation around whether Ron DeSantis is going to run for president or not.
I was not sold for the longest time, but due to recent maneuvering on his part and that of others, I firmly believe that will be the case now.
The question is, how does he go about attacking Trump without getting dirty?
The Plan
It would appear that DeSantis is going to be passive-aggressive in his approach to Trump.
He will not mention Trump, but he will discuss victories from his administration that directly call out failures of the Trump administration.
For instance, every time we opened up a paper, there was a story about a Trump leak that was causing the president problems.
DeSantis recently stated, “I didn’t have a single leak in my administration.
“You could have the best vision in the world, make the best decisions as the executive — if you don’t have people that will carry out that and implement it, then it’s not gonna amount to very much.”
Then, when DeSantis does discuss Trump, even after all the bad things that Trump has said about him, he is keeping it positive.
When talking about the endorsement that Trump loves to tout, DeSantis stated, “His endorsement was the big enchilada.
“Our voters want to look at you, and they size you up, and they take this responsibility very, very seriously.”
This strategy not only boosts DeSantis, but it gets people wondering why Trump is so nervous about him.
DeSantis appears to be playing chess while Trump is playing checkers. It is a brilliant strategy, but will it be enough to get him past Trump in the primary?
