Several Jewish organizations have claimed that more than 100 Jewish travelers weren’t allowed to board a linking flight from Frankfort to Budapest for a spiritual pilgrimage. Following the incident, German airline company Lufthansa provided an apology after it was implicated in refusing to allow a large group of Orthodox Jewish travelers to board a flight.

The group of Orthodox Jewish males was flying from the John F. Kennedy International Airport to Budapest, Hungary. They were rejected from taking the linking flight from Frankfurt, Germany.

The function of the journey by this group, which included around 150 Orthodox Jewish males, was to check out Kerestir, Hungary, as part of the yearly trip to honor the death of a Jewish scholar. Under German law, Lufthansa still needs its travelers to use a face mask, they were not allowed to board.

Discussing the matter, other guests who were on the very same flight validated for Hamodia that just a number of individuals were not using a mask, recommending that the others were following the mask guideline.

It was exposed that  the group of the Orthodox Jews was hoping while the other travelers were boarding. According to Hamodia, the representatives of Lufthansa informed the members of the group that they would be not able to go to the flight due to functional factors.

An agent of Lufthansa said that only Jewish passengers remained at the gate:

“Due to operational reasons coming from the flight from New York, for all passengers here, we have to cancel you on this flight.”

The Jewish travelers grumbled that the choice of the airline company to not allow their boarding was because they were Jews. According to them, there is no other reason that they would be rejected boarding.

Now, a brand-new video related to the event is making rounds on social networks. The video, initially reported and shared by the discount rate travel website Dan’s Deals, was published to YouTube and Instagram, where it triggered upsetting comparisons to the treatment of Jews throughout the Holocaust.
