Social media users took Joe Biden as he once described taking President Trump “behind the gym” over the child formula shortage crisis that has unfolded throughout the nation, necessitating the first time in generational memory that the US has required relief aid from its allies. Biden over the weekend boasted about Operation Formula Fly, in which the U.S. Air Force flew 70,000 pounds of the crucial supply from Europe.

The president tweeted, “Folks, I’m excited to tell you that the first flight from Operation Fly Formula is loaded up with more than 70,000 pounds of infant formula and about to land in Indiana. Our team is working around the clock to get safe formula to everyone who needs it.”

In a since-deleted tweet, Biden mistakenly declared that the administration flew in “70,000 tons”.

Twitter user and political analyst Comfortably Smug tweeted about the operation and wrote, “Biden has turned us into a third world nation where other countries are sending us relief aid.”

Dr. Nicole Saphier wrote, “The shipment is great, but let’s be honest, the supply won’t last more than a couple days.”

Political commentator Tammy Bruce added, “You have officially turned our great country into Blanche DuBois, unstable and completely reliant on the kindness of strangers.”

The Heritage Foundation’s John Cooper wrote, “How bad are things under Joe Biden?”

In a Saturday statement on the historic shortage, the Biden administration added, “In addition, President Biden has directed his Administration to take a number of other important actions to ensure there is enough safe infant formula for families, including invoking the Defense Production Act, entering into a consent agreement between the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to reopen Abbott Nutrition’s Sturgis facility, and issuing FDA guidance to allow major formula manufacturers to safely import formula that is not currently being produced for the U.S. market.”

The operation resembled the Berlin airlift running in reverse with the “transport Nestlé S.A. formula from Ramstein Air Base in Germany to Washington Dulles International Airport. From there, the formula will be transported to a Nestlé facility in Pennsylvania.” according to the statement.
