What the Democrats don’t understand is Trump and Pence are grown men with the same beliefs and they talk to each other. Overturning the electoral college votes wasn’t even in Pence’s power. If there had been enough objections Pence could have refused the results but there wasn’t. Too many people were threatened and blackmailed. If they wanted to keep their positions, they went along, regardless the cost.
Trump and Pence talked about the riots
There was likely ANTIFA and BLM infiltrators disguised as Trump supporters. It’s not that hard to do. Both gentlemen agreed the Trump supporters aren’t likely to storm the building.
Pelosi was screaming about not only a second impeachment but utilizing the 25th Amendment, desperate to remove Trump. She wanted to force Pence to do that amendment but now that’s neutralized. She tried to get it passed on Monday but that fell through.
Pence’s role is largely ceremonial
Pence spoke of Supreme Court Justice Joseph Bradley in 1876. He said the duties of the Vice President are more “ministerial” or “largely ceremonial” as opposed to being the sole authority.
“I do not believe that the Founders of our country intended to invest the Vice President with unilateral authority to decide which electoral votes should be counted during the Joint Session of Congress, and no Vice President in American history has ever asserted such an authority,” the Vice President said.
Both Pence and Trump have a sense of humor
The Democrats just can’t or won’t understand. Both men walked out of the Oval Office laughing. Pence had no intention of using the 25th Amendment against him. The possibility of a 2024 election run was thrown up in the air.
Trump said he’d back Mike if he decided to run – unless Trump decided to run again himself. Trump concluded with, “No promises though”.
