It’s only words and words change depending on where the money is coming from. This is one of many reasons we have so many lawyers in so many sectors. Gov. Gretchen Whitmer doesn’t do herself or the ladies any favors, unless you happen to be a Democrat. Then you say whatever you need to say to be right with that crowd. The phrase “a man’s word is his bond” is laughed at in Washington DC. The truth is whatever you believe.
Whitmer may be Biden’s running mate so she needs to adjust her tune. If it’s a Republican, though, all four barrels are loaded. She believed Dr. Ford when Brett Kavanaugh was being approved.
Whitmer said: “We need to give people an opportunity to tell their story. But then we have a duty to vet it. And just because you’re a survivor doesn’t mean that every claim is equal. It means we give them the ability to make their case, and the other side as well, and then make a judgment that is informed.”
Whitmer herself has been the victim of sexual assault so she didn’t care for the question. “I really resent the fact that every time a case comes up, all of us survivors have to weigh in. It is reopening wounds.”
Whitmer, the #MeToo movement can bite back.
Anybody with any integrity in the area knows enough to just shut up til the time is right. It’s often necessary to sit back and weigh both sides. It’s best to just be thought a fool instead of opening your mouth and removing all doubt.
Whitmer isn’t being asked these questions because she’s a survivor. It may be a case of whether she’ll support him, regardless the cost.
“Whitmer’s hypocrisy was on full display this weekend in her effort to chastise Jake Tapper for asking a valid question about the sexual assault allegation against Biden,” says Tori Sachs of Michigan Rising Action.
Any Republican should have words said against them
It seems GOP Sen. Peter Lucido was alleged to have said something he shouldn’t have to a reporter. Democratic Sen. Mallory McMorrow claimed Lucido put a hand on her lower back, making her uncomfortable. But Biden should be left alone. He’s the only thing we have to go up against Trump.
Michigan GOP chairwoman Laura Cox noted: “Gretchen Whitmer has built her entire brand on being an ‘advocate for women.’ However, it’s become clear the governor’s advocacy stops if it harms her political ambitions, and she is willing to ignore these serious, well-documented accusations if it gives her a shot at the vice presidency.”
