I have always lived by the thought that if you win something in a contest, you should get what you were supposed to win. We’ve all heard countless stories of people who have won radio contests where they were supposed to win a brand-new car and it was a toy car.
That kind of stuff always gets me steamed, because what good is there in getting someone’s hopes up like that? I mean, for a momentary laugh at the absolute most? Of course, as it usually does when we see awful behavior in our fellow man, there is always someone waiting in the wings to outdo them.
Take for instance the story of Kevin and Andrea Griffin. They were on a reality show where a rich property investor put his four million dollar home up as the grand prize at the end of the season. Free and clear. Fully furnished.

Seems like an absolute dream doesn’t it? I mean, especially with the way that the Biden Administration completely fouled up the housing market for buyers the past couple of years getting any kind of a house for free is a sweet deal.
Well, what seemed like was going to be the Griffins moving into an absolute dream home turned into an absolute nightmare.
See, they were told that everything that was in the home the day they won it was going to be there when they moved in down to the light bulbs and extra rolls of toilet paper.
They got to the home and on day one they began to notice that some things were missing that were clearly there when they were originally shown the home.
They did a little bit of digging and found that the rich fancy businessman decided to grab up a couple of things before he left them the keys.

Closed circuit footage caught the businessman red-handed having movers taking a robo-mower, several large appliances, a wine collection to beat the band, and a massive barbecue smoker. Taking the smoker alone would have had me ready to whip a man, but that’s just me.
Now, I have seen a lot of discussion while researching this story and there are a good number of people saying “They got a free house, they shouldn’t be so mad the guy kept his mower”; and in normal circumstances, you would be right.
However, if you win a contest and the people running the contest show you the exact number of that you are supposed to be winning and when you collect the prize there’s a massive chunk of that list missing you have every right to be angry about it.
Besides, if this businessman was as rich as he claimed to be, he wouldn’t have to be unbolting the grill from the back patio and taking it home with him.
