With a headline like this, its fair to assume this murderer is clearly sick in the head. In fact, when it comes to criminals and disturbing acts, Nikko Jenkins of Omaha, Nebraska is likely one of the most infamous of his time.
In 2013, he was convicted for murdering four people over a span of 10 days. Since his conviction however, his reputation has taken an even more sinister turn. Behind bars, he’s become known for extreme self-mutilation and manipulation tactics in order to avoid a death penalty hearing.
His latest attempt to prove his insanity backfired when he tried a bizarre stunt involving carving the number “666” on his forehead – an effort which ended up leaving him with upside down nines instead.
In 2013, Nikko Jenkins was found guilty for murdering Juan Uribe-Pena, Jorge Cajiga-Ruiz, Curtis Bradford and Andrea Kruger in Omaha. After being convicted of these four murders, Jenkins began attempting to manipulate the system by claiming that he acted under instructions from a serpent god called Apophis.
His goal was possibly to try and prove himself insane so as to bypass any kind of death penalty hearing. As if this wasn’t enough already, reports have indicated that while behind bars he has resorted to further self-mutilation techniques such as slicing his own penis using a prison guard’s badge – something which resulted in 27 stitches after the incident had passed.
This seemed like yet another attempt at proving himself incapable and incompetent in order to escape the consequences associated with such serious crimes.
The infamous 666 incident is easily one of the most bizarre incidents related to Nikko Jenkins’ criminal activity thus far.
According to reports from NY Daily News (and other sources), it appears that after several failed attempts at manipulating authorities into believing that he was mentally unstable (via extreme self mutilation) – this time around he decided it would be wise to carve ‘the number of beast’ aka 666 on his forehead using a mirror.
He later told Douglas County District Judge Peter Bataillon that this act was carried out due lack treatment for mental illness but it only served as proof that there are some loopholes you just can’t get away with.
Despite all of his efforts at avoiding justice through various means including self mutilation – eventually Nikko Jenkins got what had coming for him when Judge Peter Bataillon sentenced him for ‘one of the worst killing sprees in Nebraska history’.
Jenkins received four death sentences consecutively accompanied by 450 years imprisonment on weapons charges connected with the murders. He currently resides at Tecumseh State Correctional Institution awaiting execution where there are no possible loopholes or cutting corners available anymore.
