Well-known daytime TV judge and former Shelby County, Tenn., jurist Joe Brown just put the Manhattan left-wing district attorneys and Fulton County on blast over the charges they’ve filed against former President Donald Trump.
During a discussion with conservative commentator Rev. Jesse Peters, Brown asserted that the charges against Trump are “completely outside of the law”, not to mention a feeble attempt by Biden to undermine Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign.
Brown didn’t mince words when discussing New York Attorney General Alvin Bragg’s indictment of Trump for allegedly attempting to bribe Stormy Daniels into staying silent about their alleged affair.
He said that because Trump paid her off to remain quiet then he was actually being blackmailed, making him the victim of a felony rather than having committed one himself.
Additionally, if he had disclosed the payment amount then he would have violated a court gag order – indicating that either way, something illegal was occurring.
Trump is also facing criminal charges from special counsel Jack Smith in Florida for mishandling classified documents.
However, according to Brown, citing a 1988 U.S Supreme Court case involving the U.S Navy, presidents possess “an inherent power” to declassify or classify such documents as intelligence documents are specifically prepared for them in mind so it is within their power to do so without any criminal repercussions attached.
This is important context as it suggests that claims made against Trump may not hold up in court given this precedent set by the highest court in America itself which could greatly benefit him should it be considered during proceedings.
In response President Joe Biden’s attempt to undermine his potential 2024 campaign, Trump posted on Truth Social vehemently criticizing criminal charges he faced which include two new federal counts consisting of obstruction counts and individual counts of conspiracy.
He stated “My political opponent has hit me with a barrage of weak lawsuits, including D.A., A.G., and others, which require massive amounts of my time & money to adjudicate. Resources that would have gone into Ads and Rallies, will now have to be spent fighting these Radical Left Thugs in numerous courts throughout the Country. I am leading in all Polls, including against Crooked Joe, but this is not a level playing field. It is Election Interference, & the Supreme Court must intercede. MAGA!”
