We’ve all had those moments when we’re excitedly waiting for a package to arrive in the mail—perhaps it’s a new piece of furniture, clothes, or something else.
But when Jane Begakis received her leather chair from Amazon, she was shocked and disturbed by an unexpected addition inside the box: A vial of human blood.

Begakis tweeted about this bizarre incident and was immediately met with thousands of retweets and likes.
She expressed feeling “terrified” and “unprepared” for such an experience.
After hearing about the surprising delivery made by Amazon, they responded with an apology email offering Begakis a $156.59 refund for the chair as well as a $100 gift card.
They wrote: “First and foremost, I’m truly sorry for your experience! I can certainly understand the concern of receiving bodily fluids in your package.”

No matter how long you’ve been ordering items online or what company you use, there will always be surprises along the way–but not necessarily ones like receiving human blood in your packages.
Fortunately in this case Jennifer was able to get some sort of compensation for her terrifying experience…however, it makes you wonder how a vial of blood makes its way into someone’s package?
