Fox News White House Correspondent Peter Doocy has been absent from his usual duties for a couple of weeks but made a return on Monday to explain what happened.
This life-changing event kept him away from inquiring Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.
He appeared on “Fox & Friends” alongside his dad, Steve Doocy, and co-hosts Ainsley Earhardt and Brian Kilmeade to let viewers know he had been at home with his wife and newborn daughter.
Doocy has been taking paternity leave since the end of spring when his wife Fox News congressional correspondent Hillary Vaughn resumed work after their daughter was born on February 1st.
It is said that he used most of his free time playing with baby Bridget, including moments in the swimming pool and even expressed ambitions for her to become a future president one day.
A colleague gave them a pink onesie with the words “Future President” printed on it as an encouragement for her future endeavors.
In order to take care of his daughter, Doocy would wake up at 7 am every morning to feed Bridget before taking her out for walks when she was an infant.
Now that she is older she began eating solid food like sweet potatoes which was revealed during the segment aired on “Fox & Friends” in September where Steve shared recipes from his cookbook as well as announcing they were expecting a baby girl.
On February 9th Doocy posted about the exciting news online and shared how President Joe Biden suggested they should name their daughter after Jean-Pierre who jokingly requested it during one press briefing back in January 3rd.
The People magazine published an article shortly after featuring exclusive photos taken by Peter himself along with comments by both parents expressing how happy they are having such beautiful addition in their lives.
