It is with immense sadness that we inform you of the heartbreaking passing of Emmy award-winning meteorologist, Elise Finch, who died unexpectedly over the weekend at the age of 51.
She was a beloved friend and team member at WCBS for 16 years and just this past Friday was her last time on air.
The cause of death has not been determined yet.
Elise survives by her devoted husband Graig Henriques and their young daughter named Grace.
Elise’s colleagues have expressed their deep grief through heartfelt words such as “She was our bright light in the morning”.
It is indeed very difficult to accept that such an admired woman could be gone all of a sudden.
We all are trying to comprehend how this tragedy could occur to one so full of life- someone who was only 51 years old.
Elise Finch began working at WCBS back in 2007 as their weekend meteorologist and most recently she joined Cindy Hsu on the 9 am newscast, where she proved herself to be an incredibly gifted professional who took great care with her work.
What’s more, she was also actively involved in community service right from her hometown Mount Vernon – making her loss even more devastating for us all to bear.
Moreover, it cannot be denied that Elise Finch’s impact extended beyond her broadcast career; she will always remain remembered as an ambassador of kindness and compassion whose selflessness will continue to live on forever with those who knew her best.
