House Speaker McCarthy (R-CA) notched another win this week.
McCarthy was able to get the debt ceiling legislation passed.
It barely passed, with only two votes to spare, but it passed.
This means McCarthy has put the ball in Joe’s court.

Joe Biden, to this point, has not been willing to sit down.
Biden is banking on McCarthy flinching, but this legislation could put the onus of the debt ceiling on Biden.
Senator Schumer (D-N.Y.) says the House bill will die in the Senate, but I am not so sure of that.
Manchin has already stated he would support the bill, so they only need one more person to cross the aisle and that bill would pass the Senate.
McCarthy stated, “We have lifted the debt ceiling, so nobody could worry about whether the debt ceiling is going to get lifted, we did it.
“The Democrats have not.
“The president wants to make sure the debt ceiling is going to be lifted? Sign this bill.”
If this bill fails on the Senate or gets vetoed by Joe, that means Democrats have officially taken ownership of the possible default.
We have about 60 days before we default, so the clock is ticking.
