A nurse has gone viral online after she defended herself against internet trolls who claimed her scrubs were “inappropriate” because the clothing hugs her figure.
The woman, Erika Diaz, posted a video online which shows her standing in front of the camera wearing her scrubs, which accentuate her figure. While she is seen posing in the clip, she quotes the typical reactions she receives when wearing her nurse uniform.
“Why do you wear scrubs like that it’s inappropriate,” the on-screen text reads.
The 22-year-old nurse’s video where she can be seen sporting a blue top that is tucked into matching pants went viral on TikTok.
Erika included a screenshot of the scrubs in the clip, to indicate that they were designed to be tucked in and look as if they were used in online advertising.
The only difference between the two is Erika’s physical proportions.
She captioned the video saying how some people just don’t care as much about her scrubs as they do about her body, and it definitely shows in their comments.
Since she posted the video, it has gathered over 12.9 million views, as Erika continued to defend herself in the comment’s section.
“Just for clarification, I am 5’2″ and 107 lbs. I’m short and little,” she said, explaining. “Y’all can say my body is fake all y’all want, it’s not. Ask my back problems.”
“I literally work 2 jobs, volunteer, and I am still studying,” her statement added. “I’m devoting my life to the improvement of others, and anyone’s opinions are irrelevant.”
Some people questioned whether Erika was comfortable in the scrubs.
One person wrote: “The uniform should allow mobility.”
“No hate at all, wear whatcha wear, but I thought scrubs had to be loose like for safety?” another person asked. “So you can change quickly if you get something on them?”
Someone else added: “Not inappropriate at [all]. It just looks uncomfortable and that’s only speaking from my experience of it happening to me.”
“It doesn’t look inappropriate just odd. Nurses usually wear loose scrubs to be comfortable,” a fourth person commented.
On the other hand, many other defended Erika, saying that it isn’t inappropriate because that’s how her body fits the clothes and her body is covered.
One person wrote: “She can’t help it that she’s snatched, let a fine woman live.”
“Can’t change what you have, doesn’t make it inappropriate,” another person said.
Someone else added: “Y’all wouldn’t have a problem with it if she had A cups.”
