Let’s interrupt your political day with a little sports news.
An NFL QB that was once touted as a future HOF player is now looking for work.
The Washington Commanders have released Carson Wentz.
Down in Flames
Wentz hit the ground running, having a spectacular season with the Philadelphia Eagles when he was injured.
During that 2018 season, there was plenty of MVP talk, then he went down, and Nick Foles took over, leading the Eagles to their first Super Bowl win in franchise history.
Wentz has never been the same.
From the Eagles, he went to the Colts and continued to underperform to expectations.
Suddenly, the QB became a journeyman, finding himself in a Commanders uniform last season.
He was less than spectacular, going 2-5, a 33.0 QB rating, and having only a 62.3 completion percentage for 1,755 yards.
It is hard to imagine any team signing him for anything other than a backup role at this point.
Oh, how the mighty have fallen.
