Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper is one of those infamous “spies who lie.” He thinks he has the “plausible deniability” to skate on liability for his role in the Hunter Biden laptop cover-up. Two years after the nefarious propaganda piece came out, he claims Politico twisted their words. He didn’t say that when Biden used it on the campaign trail.

Clapper blames Politico

It’s all Politico’s fault, James Clapper insists. They lied and America believed them. He and 50 other spooky Democrats were very careful to craft each and every word they said. It’s not their fault people read things into it they didn’t say.

Politico, he calmly declares, “deliberately distorted” the letter to help swing the election in Joe’s direction. Basically, the letter called Hunter Biden’s laptop “potential Russian disinformation.

It’s that “potential” part, Clapper explains. They were sure to work that word in because it covers their hind quarters. Politico and everyone else ignored it, as they knew it would be. You’re “potentially” a millionaire, too. Or a serial killer. The possibility exists.

In the case of Hunter’s laptop, they knew the information was accurate but “implied” it was manufactured propaganda anyway. Anything they could do to keep Donald Trump from getting elected was fair game. They knew what they were doing, which is why they were so careful with their phrasing.

The thing the liberal spooks weren’t planning on was ever being questioned about it. Clapper relates that ex-Politico reporter Natasha Bertrand “obtained” their letter.

She was on her own when she used it for her story titled, “Hunter Biden story is Russian disinfo, dozens of former intel officials say.” They didn’t demand a retraction. None of those quoted said a single word. They just sat back and watched the election.

Message distortion

The message they sent wasn’t the one the public received. According to Clapper, “there was message distortion. All we were doing was raising a yellow flag that this could be Russian disinformation. Politico deliberately distorted what we said. It was clear in paragraph five.

That makes what they did okay. They made sure Politico had it to publish in October of 2020, while it could still make a difference on who would occupy the oval office for a while. He also is on record endorsing Biden as his choice.

Another one of the spooky spies who put their name on the hit piece, former deputy director of National Intelligence for analysis Thomas Fingar, agrees with Clapper.

He says “no one should be ‘surprised‘ by members of the media or politicians that ‘willfully or unintentionally‘ misconstrue statements.” He certainly wasn’t. He worked really hard on just the right phrasing to mislead them.

The statement we signed was carefully written to minimize the likelihood that what was said would be misconstrued, and to provide a clear written record that could be used to identify and disprove distortions.

Clapper and Fingar swear up and down that “the intent of the letter was that this could be Russian disinformation — emphasis on could. It’s a very important nuance … a distinction that people are always ignoring.” So consistently that they counted on it. You don’t get to be a spook by doing things in an upfront manner.
