Senator Joe Manchin (D-W.V.) has a big problem on his hands.
He is crashing in polls, with a sub-30 approval rating.
With re-election coming up in 2024, time is running out for him to fix this problem.
Sadly, at least for Manchin, the situation does not appear as though it will improve anytime soon.

I have always been pretty critical of Manchin because I think he is a liar.
If you look at his voting record, eventually, he always caves, just like he did in the Inflation Reduction Act.
Manchin made a deal to pass that legislation to streamline the process for gas and oil leases to be approved.
However, that deal is likely to fall apart because a large group of Democrats has already told House Speaker Pelosi (D-CA) they will not support any legislation that has that in it.
Currently, only 26.3 percent of West Virginians approve of Manchin.
Against all possible opponents for 2024, Manchin is down significantly.
Unless he gets a big win that he can take back to his state, his Senate career is over.
