In December 2022 Republicans had collected emails and text messages that implicated Pelosi in the lack of security on January 6. Trump had recommended 10,000 National Guard troops to help. She had turned him down so it was on her. She was setting up film crews to focus on her. She knew something big was going to happen. Security officials declared over and over that they had been denied what was needed.
Pelosi made the wrong move
Republicans Rodney Davis, Jim Banks, Troy Nehls, Jim Jordan and Kelly Armstrong put a report together using evidence the January 6 committee wouldn’t look at. Kevin McCarthy said we needed to do our own probe.
The report said the capitol was vulnerable as a result of Democrat leaders too worried about “optics” to effectively protect the White House. Pelosi didn’t want too many officers visible.
Pelosi didn’t allow Republicans
On that committee. The report concluded that, “Leadership and law enforcement failures within the U.S. Capitol left the complex vulnerable on January 6, 2021. The Democrat-led investigation in the House of Representatives, however, has disregarded those institutional failings that exposed the Capitol to violence that day.”
Maybe she’ll be held accountable for what happened that day. House Republicans will force her to testify.
Jim Jordan will lead the charge
“The reason there wasn’t a proper security presence on that day goes right to the speaker’s staff and the speaker’s office. As you go back and look at the communications, there’s this pattern that develops where the Sergeant of Arms is meeting with Pelosi’s staff. In many of those meetings, Republican staff wasn’t allowed to be there, but they had this pattern where everything had to run through her office, her staff, before the Sergeant of Arms could make a decision.” There was no way to override her orders.
A Texas Republican, Troy Nehls, said we need answers from her. “And Nancy Pelosi. You do have questions you need to answer … Nancy, we’ll get you, and we’ll fly you back from Italy once you’re the ambassador.” Biden may make her an ambassador.
