The race for the Republican nomination continues to heat up, and a popular congressman has just announced his support for the leading contender!
Ohio Representative Jim Jordan publicly shared that he will be backing former President Donald Trump in the upcoming primary election.
In an interview with Breitbart, Jordan spoke about his admiration for Trump’s political record and why he believes Trump is “the right candidate” for 2024.
When asked about who he would endorse for the Republican primary contest, Jordan gave President Donald Trump his full-hearted endorsement.
“No one has demonstrated that they will do what they said and get things done like he did,” said Jordan. “And that’s what I still respect about President Trump, and I’m for him all the way.”
He then noted how Vice President Mike Pence and Governor Ron DeSantis are both great people but only expressed support for one person: “I am 100% for President Trump.”
At this time, more than 70 House members have declared their support or expressed favorability toward a potential run by Donald Trump in 2024.
This is despite facing criminal charges in New York since leaving office.
As of now, only two governors have endorsed the former president.
According to polling data from Echelon Insights published in early July, 48% of likely voters in swing states would probably or definitely vote for Trump compared to just 41% who would opt to go with Joe Biden if Green Party candidate Cornel West were included too.
Given these current conditions it appears as though Donald Trump has the strongest chance at reclaiming White House come next year. Just more great news for the former president.
