Tensions between North and South Korea continue to rise.
North Korean Leader Kim Jong-Un fired off yet another missile on Friday.
This one, however, was a bit too close for comfort for South Korea.
Tensions Are High
Kim has been firing off missiles at a record pace since Joe Biden took office.
The latest volley was a response to joint exercises held between the United States and South Korea.
Only days earlier, North and South Korea were bickering over maritime borders being breached.
South Korea claimed that the latest missile was fired off the southern border of North Korea.
Kim, who is usually quick to claim responsibility, has neither confirmed nor denied the tests.
U.S. Indo-Pacific Command stated, “We are aware of the ballistic missile launches and are consulting closely with our allies and partners.”
“While we have assessed that this event does not pose an immediate threat to U.S. personnel or territory, or to our allies, the missile launches highlight the destabilizing impact of the DPRK’s unlawful WMD and ballistic missile program.”
While all of this is going on, the clock is also ticking on an expected nuclear test by North Korea.
