House Republicans, and Democrats for that matter, are quite concerned about the protection being supplied to government officials.

With the assassination attempt against Donald Trump, Republicans have every right to be concerned.

As such, the House Judiciary Committee has launched a probe to ensure the proper protection of justices and other elected officials.

We Have to Know

The protection provided to Trump, for use of a better word, was pathetic.

Rep. Jordan (R-OH) has written a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland on the matter.

It stated, “On July 13, 2024, all Americans were shocked by the assassination attempt on President Donald Trump as he campaigned for the presidency, an attack that left one innocent American dead and others injured.

“Given the recent incendiary rhetoric directed towards other federal officials, including in particular the men and women serving on our nation’s highest court, we write to understand the steps undertaken by the Department of Justice to ensure the safety of all Supreme Court justices.”

Donald Trump is lucky to be alive today.

If we look back at the attack, that shooter never should have been able to set up shop, but that is only the beginning of this mess.

If you look at the protection provided to Trump after the shot was taken, he could have been taken out numerous times.

For instance, at one point, one of the agents leaned over to pick up Trump’s hat, leaving his entire head and upper torso open to a shot.

When they moved Trump from the stage and down the steps, Trump’s head was visible most of the time.

And that does not even address the fact that agents allowed Trump to push through for the iconic photo, a great photo, mind you, but one that never should have been taken.

Point being, Jordan has every right to be concerned that protection is not quite what it is supposed to be by the Secret Service.
