The beltway water cooler pool is officially over and whoever had the name Hallie Biden as a square gets the big payoff. The mystery has been swirling since Tuesday, when House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer teased that a “new” name to investigate had surfaced. On Thursday, he confirmed it was Joe’s daughter-in-law who got a split of the Chinese proceeds.
Hallie Biden got a split
If you’ve been following the saga of $3 million from China to a Biden associate, there’s been an update. We knew that as soon as the money came in, there was a quick split to Joe’s family members. One name popped up which surprisingly hadn’t been on congressional radar. Oversight Chairman Comer made sure he had everyone’s attention before revealing it was Hallie.
A $3 million transfer on March 1, 2017, from the Chinese State Energy HK Limited, affiliated with CEFC China Energy, came in to an entity associated with Biden family partner John “Rob” Walker, who kept his third. Another third was “forwarded on” to another family associate, James Gilliar. He’s the one who referred to Joe as “the big guy” in emails. That left “about $1,065,000” to distribute “among Biden family members over three months.”

Watchdog James Comer had most of America on the edge of their seats, anxious to find out which Biden family member’s name jumped out of a “suspicious activity report” that was finally coughed up by the Treasury department.

There was more interest in who got splits of the money than there was in who shot J.R. Ewing back in Dallas. We know for certain that “Hunter Biden and first brother James Biden earned at least $4.8 million from CEFC China Energy.”
Tony Bobulinski already confirmed that Joe Biden is the “big guy” mentioned “in communications about the same Chinese venture.” Before Comer got a squint at that SAR report, Joe may have had a heads up from Janet Yellen that it was going to be released. Along with around 150 more just like it.
Joe conveniently decided to drop in on Hallie for dinner last Friday. Since it coincided with “his regular weekend trip home to Delaware,” it’s “unclear if they discussed the looming bombshell,” New York Post reports. The suspicious activity report confirms that “Hallie Biden received $35,000 over two transfers in 2017.”
New avenue for investigation
As Comer solved one mystery, he raised another. Hallie Biden’s name has created one “unexpected new avenue for investigation” but there turns out to be another. The “bank records don’t include the first names of all Biden family recipients, meaning there may be other relatives involved.”
Another obvious possibility is that the omitted first name is “Joe.” Hallie wasn’t one of the obvious suspects, both Joe’s brothers ranked higher in everyone’s speculation.
Hallie was married to Beau Biden, until he died in 2015. Not only is she the mother of two of Joe’s grandchildren, she started sleeping with Hunter around 2016. Before she broke up with him in 2019, she got him in legal trouble in October of 2018, by tossing his gun in a trash can.

He wasn’t supposed to have a gun and lied on the forms to get it. When he sent her back to retrieve it, the weapon was gone. It had been found and turned over to police, which ruined Hunter’s day.
The first report of suspicion on the stack revealed that “over the course of several years, members of the Biden family and their companies received over $1.3 million in payments from accounts related to their associate, Rob Walker.”
Most “of this money came as a result of a wire from a Chinese energy company and went not only to Hunter and James Biden but also to Hallie Biden and an unknown ‘Biden.’” It’s unclear to congress “what services were provided to obtain this exorbitant amount of money.“
