Former NFL running back Marshawn Lynch was recently detained by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department for suspicion of DUI.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department released a statement:
“The LVMPD conducted a vehicle stop at Fairfield Avenue and West Utah Avenue (near Wyoming and Las Vegas Blvd) on a driver, later identified as Marshawn Lynch, for suspected driver impairment. Through the course of the investigation, officers determined that Lynch was impaired and conducted an arrest. Lynch was transported to the Las Vegas City Jail and booked for driving under the influence.”

A traffic stop at Fairfield Avenue and West Utah Avenue ended in an arrest, as LVMPD shared that they had pulled over a driver, later identified as Lynch, for “suspected driver impairment.”
Ironically, the arrest was made just one day after the Seattle Seahawks had assigned Lynch to represent them as a “special reporter” this year.
USA Today reported that Lynch was given a ticket for failing to yield or driver in a travel lane and was discovered to not be the registered owner of the vehicle he had been driving.
Lynch was held at the Las Vegas City Jail with a $3,381 bail after his arrest on four offenses which included DUI, failure or refusal to surrender evidence of security, unregistered vehicle, and failing to drive in the travel lane.
The 36-year-old former NFL star played for 12 seasons, first being selected for the Buffalo Bills in the 2007 draft before being traded in 2010 to the Seattle Seahawks.
Lynch joined the then-Oakland Raiders in 2017, after first retiring at the conclusion of the 2015 season. He played there for two years before joining the Seahawks again in 2019.
Lynch hasn’t competed since the end of the 2019 season.
