This is it: the terrorist group Hamas is getting ready to take their violent mission global as a key player has just called for a worldwide Muslim uprising. And the supposed day it might be happening is coming up a lot sooner than you think: Friday, October 13.
Khaled Mashal, a founding member and former leader of the terrorist organization Hamas, recently issued an incendiary call for global Muslims to rise up in support of Palestine. In a YouTube address, Mashal encouraged members of the Muslim community to sacrifice and engage in Jihad with their “blood and souls” in order to advance the Palestinian cause.
Furthermore, he declared October 13th as “the Friday of Al-Aqsa flood”—a rallying cry intended to provoke unrest not just in Middle Eastern nations but also those that host diaspora communities around the world.
Khalid Mashal the leader and founding member of Hamas gave a speech today asking Muslims all around the world to do the following:⁰⁰1. To show anger, especially next Friday, in Muslim countries and Also among Muslim diaspora around the world; he called it “the Friday of Al-Aqsa… pic.twitter.com/koJ42DRFMy

Mashal’s message is chilling; it could unleash a wave of violence across multiple countries and galvanize a massive uncontrolled force on Israel’s doorstep. Most alarming is his direct appeal for Muslims to wage Jihad by sacrificing their lives for Palestine’s cause.
This clear and explicit call for martyrdom brings terrorism into even sharper focus than it has been before. Even more concerning are Mashal’s specific target countries: Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt–all bordering Israel.
The leader of Hamas just called for a Global Day of Jihad this Friday.
Do not leave your homes that day unless there is an emergency.
Avoid public transit.
Avoid airplanes.
Avoid public events.

On the same day as Mashal’s address, Hamas released its own statement echoing his words about an “Al-Aqsa Flood.” The declaration specifically called on Palestinians living both within Israel itself or occupied territories to stage large-scale demonstrations against Israeli military personnel at every opportunity possible–an unambiguous sign that this conflict could quickly become uncontrollable if left unchecked.
It is now up to international leaders from all sides of the political spectrum to come together with a unified response that will help counter radicalization and extremist ideology coming out of Palestine and other parts of the Middle East region.
