A couple of weeks ago, an Airman was arrested for sharing Pentagon secrets.
Airman Teixeira was posting classified information to his internet buddies on Discord, a messaging app.
It turns out, he had been reprimanded twice, but they allowed him to keep his clearance.
The Signs Were There
This never should have happened.
Teixeira was caught in consecutive months putting notes in his pocket and doing deep dives into things he should not have been checking into.
Even so, he was permitted to stay in his role as well as keeping his clearance.
So, what happened?
He was “instructed to no longer take notes in any form on classified intelligence information.”
Additionally, they told him to “cease and desist on any deep dives into classified intelligence information.”
That is it.
And now we know why two officers that oversaw Teixeira were suspended… because they are idiots!
