I just read a report that has me steaming, as I am sure it will you.
All charges have been dropped against the more than 200 illegal immigrants who stormed the border, injuring at least one National Texas Guard member.
Needless to say, members of the Guard, as well as citizens, were fuming at the report.
Set Them Free
The incident took place at the El Paso, TX, border with Mexico.
More than 200 migrants crashed through a fence, then rushed Guard members who had been assigned to Operation Lone Star.
The El Paso DA claimed that he did not have jurisdiction in the matter, so all charges were dropped and the migrants were then turned over for processing.
In all likelihood, within a week, they will all be released to the county’s interior.
Troops assigned to Operation Lone Star were fuming over the news of the charges being dropped.
One member, who preferred to remain anonymous, stated, “These El Paso liberals are literally siding with criminals over our own police and military.
“All it does is send a message that illegals can do whatever they want and get away with it. It sets a precedent and will encourage more behavior like that going forward.”
This is clearly not sending the appropriate message to illegals, who have been getting extremely aggressive at the border in their efforts to illegally enter the country.
With no repercussions for such actions, it is a fairly safe bet that this type of behavior will continue, leading to more assaults against our troops and border agents trying to keep our border closed.
I just cannot help but wonder: If the El Paso DA does not have jurisdiction for a crime committed in El Paso, who does?
Furthermore, if that is actually the case, why was the case not handed over to the appropriate office for prosecution?
We have pro-life protesters being sentenced to years in jail for standing outside abortion clinics but people entering the country illegally and assaulting troops are free to go with no charges.
Something is abhorrently wrong with our justice system.
