I just don’t understand what is going on with local politicians these days and the bold actions they are taking.
It is as though they all believe that once they are elected to office, they are now above the law.
That was surely the case for Rhode Island State Senator Joshua Miller, a Democrat.
Why?
Miller was apparently upset at the bumper sticker at a car at the Garden City Center.
The anti-Biden sentiment did not sit well with him.
So, what did he do?
He pulled out his keys and started to run them down the side of the car.
The owner if the vehicle returned the car around 3:30 p.m. and saw Miller with keys in hand.
Miller was asked if he was responsible for the damage, and he, of course, denied it.
The incident was reported to the police, who then later tracked down Miller, who then changed his story to that victim stalking him over legislation he was presenting in the State House…
Police were finally able to get some surveillance video, which apparently showed Miller doing the deed.
Miller was taken into custody and is now facing vandalism charges.
Cranston Police Chief Michael Winquist stated, “The officers who handled this investigation did so with fairness, integrity, and without preferential treatment.”
Joe Powers, Chairman of the Rhode Island GOP, tweeted, “This behavior is unbecoming of anyone holding a leadership position.
“State Senator Joshua Miller has proven once again that he does not have the composure required to represent every constituent in his district and must resign immediately.”
The behavior alone is bad enough, but the ease with which these people lie astonishes me.
