Democrat donors are closing up shop on elections they no longer see as a reality.
Charlie Crist is at the top of that list in his battle with Governor Ron DeSantis.
The big money sees the state as a loser, so they are writing Crist off and looking elsewhere.
Throw in the Towel
The money in Florida has completely dried up.
In this election cycle, Republicans raised a whopping $200 million.
Democrats were only able to raise $29 million, which shows a huge shift in what is generally considered the prize of all battleground states.
Florida has turned a very nice shade of red.
The Democrat Governor’s Association is among the honey pots that no longer exist.
The group spent $14 million in Florida in the previous two elections.
This time, they spent only $685,000.
Michael Bloomberg spent $100 million in 2020 in the state, but he only spent $1.5 million this time around.
Could it be that in their quest to oust Trump, Democrats went broke?
Greg Goddard, a Florida Democratic fundraiser, stated, “If Democrats follow this building national narrative and decide not to compete in Florida in 2024, it will be one of the most short-sighted decisions of the last 30 years.
“Where do we think the pathway to winning a future presidential election lies?”
That is a great question.
