ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos regularly shows how often establishment media is wrong but he was over the top recently. He spoke with Ohio Republican Senator J.D. Vance. The interview was contentious and turned openly antagonistic when Vance suggested Trump fire everybody in government and defy the Supreme Court. Stephanopoulos wouldn’t let Vance defend himself, interrupting twice.
Trump returns power to the people
If given a chance. Vance had said in 2021 that Trump should “fire every single mid-level bureaucrat, every civil servant in the administrative state, replace them with our people.”
Vance also suggested that the court enforce its decision. He thought Trump should “stand before the country like Andrew Jackson did, and say, ‘The chief justice has made his ruling. Now let him enforce it.’”

Stephanopoulos was aghast
Go against the Supreme Court? “Fire everyone in the government, then defy the Supreme Court? You think it’s OK for the president to defy the Supreme Court?” When he allowed Vance to explain himself, Stephanopoulos all but threw Vance out.
Vance said the growth of the administrative state has now become unaccountable to both Americans and elected politicians. Stephanopoulos didn’t like that at all. “You’ve made it very clear you believe the president can defy the Supreme Court. Senator, thanks for your time this morning.”
Trump is a businessman
Vance protested at being cut even through ABC’s editing. It was tweeted out that the Trump supporting Ohio Senator thought the US has “a major problem here with administrators and bureaucrats in the government who don’t respond to the elected branches.” The Senator was shut off because the moderator didn’t like his answer.
This was done on a major Sunday afternoon talk show. It was probably uncomfortable in that the Democrats’ own Joe Biden is doing exactly that, defying the nation’s Supreme Court. So much for civil conversation.
