Rep. Cory Mills has been there, done that. The Florida Republican served in the Army’s 82nd Airborne where he earned the Bronze Star and was wounded by two explosives, one being an IED, the other was Iranian-made. It doesn’t matter that this latest attack could bring war to the region, Mills went anyway. He was on the ground in Israel helping 32 Americans escape while Democrats deflect the cameras.
The Republican gets the job done
Mills was “helping and showing solidarity with our Israeli brethren and helping Americans evacuate.” There are many more Americans waiting to come home too. This is all too familiar.
With Biden as a newly installed President, Americans were left behind in Afghanistan September 2021. The country is now ruled by Muslim fanatics of the Taliban. Mills was able to fly into that area to evacuate a mother and her three children.

The Republican understands
The two regions and events are different. The US was humiliated in Afghanistan and Israel is at war. Israel is considerably more modern with advanced technology. Afghanistan is a backwater currently under the rule of an Islamist theocracy that thinks life was better in 670 AD.
The Afghanistan government’s armed forces collapsed. Israel’s will not. They’ve spent 75 years building up their forces. They’re tenacious. The tiny region has survived since 1948. The will to live free is strong in a sea of hostile authoritarian Muslim enemies.
The Republican will help
There are Americans willing to fly into war torn areas to get fellow Americans to safety. It’s worth noting there were two Democrats in Hamas at the time of the attack, Sen. Cory Booker of New Jersey and Rep. Dan Goldman of New York. They evacuated immediately.
Biden made only a passing reference to Americans held hostage and said nothing about securing their release. Although the President sent military aircraft carriers to the Mediterranean, the will and competence to do more than that doesn’t appear to be there.
