Joe Biden has managed to destroy foreign relations with friends and foes alike.
At the top of that list is the Chinese.
Numerous White House officials have recently met with high-ranking Chinese officials to smooth things out, but the perceptions of both sides are not exactly the same.
Not the Same
National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan conducted meetings in Malta.
After they were over, his team stated, “The United States noted the importance of peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait.
“The two sides committed to maintain this strategic channel of communication and to pursue additional high-level engagement and consultations in key areas between the United States and the People’s Republic of China in the coming months.”
When Antony Blinken finished up his meetings, he stated, “From the perspective of the United States, face-to-face diplomacy is the best way to deal with areas where we disagree, and also the best way to explore areas of cooperation between us.
“The world expects us to responsibly manage our relationship. The United States is committed to doing just that.”
Both sound more on the positive side than the negative.
A Chinese official stated, ”Now China-U.S. relations face a lot of difficulties and challenges. It needs us both to display more sincerity, more efforts, and meet each other halfway.”
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning pulled no punches, stating, “Let me say that Taiwan is part of China’s territory.
“There is no so-called ‘median line’ in the Taiwan Strait.”
Now, I don’t know about you, but it sure sounds like China fed our guys their lunch again.
Every day these people are in office puts this country at greater and greater risk.
