Nancy Pelosi tried to praise President Joe Biden for passing the Inflation Reduction Act. The audience didn’t see it as praiseworthy so she had to tell them to respond. Jeb Bush had the same awkward moment as a candidate in 2016 when he had to prompt the audience to respond. The audience knows the Inflation Reduction Act doesn’t reduce inflation and it’s still spiraling out of control.
Pelosi embarrassed
“Mr. President, thank you for unifying and inspiring a vision of a stronger, fairer, safer future for all, for our children. Your extraordinary leadership has made this glorious day possible.”
She paused but the audience was asleep at the switch. She reminded them, “That’s an applause line”.

Pelosi is covering for Biden
Because you have to make this look good. In August prices rose 8.3% over last year. Those same prices rose 9.1% in June. Lower gas prices contributed to the rise of just 0.1% from July to August but the core price index that includes volatile food and energy went up 0.6%.
That was double the increase felt in June into July when the increase was 0.3%. There’s a lot of doubt at to whether the Inflation Act will do what it says it will do.
Pelosi is blowing smoke
Senator Lindsey Graham is on the Senate Budget Committee, he says it’s not going to work. “When it comes to the Manchin-Schumer so-called ‘inflation reduction’ proposal, another shoe has just dropped. According to CBO analysis, the proposal’s effect on inflation is negligible at best. The estimate ranges from reducing inflation by 0.1 percent to increasing it by 0.1 percent in the near term. The idea that this tax and spend proposal is going to blunt inflation is yet again rejected, this time by CBO. Democratic statements about the proposal are quite frankly wrong and misleading.”
The Act narrowly passed. Part of how it passed was a change of heart from Democrat Senator Joe Manchin. The University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School said it would increase inflation. So instead of admitting to this, a celebration was held for a useless new law. If you have to ask for applause, it’s not worth applauding.
