ICYMI: When you are the mayor, you do what you want… ask Lori Lightfoot.
The Beetlejuice doppelganger has been ringing up traffic citations left and right.
And at the time, she took advantage of her position…she has not paid any of them.
Give Her the Boot
Red lights, illegal parking, speeding… you name it, Lightfoot has done it.
Lightfoot has more than $650 in fines, all of which are unpaid.
One of the cars in her caravan, technically, could be seized for a $244 ticket from running a red light.
Lightfoot’s office responded, “Members of the Mayor’s Detail are trained in a variety of safety and security techniques to keep the Mayor safe and that includes both vehicles staying in formation while en route.
“The Mayor has repeatedly stressed to the Detail traffic safety and that running red lights is never acceptable.”
So, speeding in a school zone with children present is a tactic she employs? Because that is where two of the tickets come from.
Her vehicle was clocked at 43 and 39 miles per hour in those two instances.
Alderman Raymond Lopez responded, “Yet another Lightfoot hypocrisy.
“Saying motorists need to slow down while her taxpayer-funded motorcade continues to rack up speed and red-light tickets.”
Alderman Anthony Beale added, “This is do as I say, not as I do. … It’s totally hypocritical that we’re asking the taxpayers to pay to balance the budget, but she can’t even pay her fair share to balance the budget.”
Hey, maybe she had a hair appointment to get to! After all, that is why she broke COVID protocols.
